As a key component to providing insight into our business, the Data Analyst will be able to answer any quantifiable question put forward or at least know what is needed to find the answer. The Data Analyst must quickly understand our business, how and where information (data) is stored, and then be able to create Power BI reports and dashboards to inform our business decisions. This position will require curiosity and imagination to build solutions to put information at the fingertips of managers and executives.
A reporting database is currently being built; it pulls data from various systems and is organized in a way to allow reporting across them all. Power BI reports are being built on top of the data based on business needs and intuition.
BUILD POWER BI REPORTS AND DASHBOARDS
- Document requirements and business needs related to reporting
- Learn the existing reporting data model and where the data comes from
- Design reports and dashboards
- Build and iterate on Power BI reports and dashboards
- Publish reports and manage the Power BI workspace
- Present complex findings in clear, compelling narratives tailored to a diverse audience and skill level.
- Monitor emerging trends in analytics, and recommend enhancements to tools, technologies, and methodologies.
- Apply statistical methods, data analysis, and mining techniques to deliver predictive insights and actionable recommendations.
- Must have a passion to learn and understand our business
- Be proactive with ideas and solutions
- Collaborate with all levels of the business
- Identify and address data quality issues
- Develop and implement data quality standards and processes
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure data integrity and consistency
- Participate in the development of data governance policies and procedure
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
- Continuously evaluate and optimize reporting and analytics processes
- Provide training and support to end-users on Power BI and data analysis
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in data analysis and visualization
- 2+ years of Power BI Development
- Experience with DAX logic and creating Measures
- Transact SQL knowledge to build out Power BI data models
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Can work independently on projects
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, ability to listen to fully understand business needs
- Able to manage own work and deadlines
- Experience in driving continuous improvement initiatives
- Strong understanding of data management and governance principles
Candidates within 30 miles of one of our four office locations may be asked to come into the office for a hybrid schedule depending on the role.
